Portland, Oregon (Jan. 31, 2025) – Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andreas Scharff as the new General Manager of Service and Customer Experience. Andreas, currently serving as the Head of E-Mobility Sales, Digital Solutions, and Dealer Network Development for Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Stuttgart, Germany, will oversee all field service operations and customer experience (CX) initiatives under DTNA.

Andreas brings over 15 years of experience in leading and developing global teams in the automotive industry. His extensive background includes roles in sales, after sales, product management, marketing, and strategy development and implementation. Andreas joined Daimler Truck in 2016 as Head of Powertrain Sales, Product Planning & Strategy for the Global Powertrain organization. He later led the Transformation Program in Europe, significantly contributing to Mercedes-Benz Trucks' increased Return on Sales (RoS).

Prior to Daimler Truck, Andreas worked for Robert Bosch GmbH, one of Daimler Truck’s major global suppliers, from 2006 to 2016. He led a large program aimed at increasing customer centricity by reorganizing the sales organization. His passion for customer satisfaction continued as he took on roles in Product Management, Marketing & Strategy at one of Bosch's largest powertrain divisions, and later as Head of Global Sales for Daimler and the United Kingdom in Bosch’s Aftersales division. Prior to Bosch, Andreas worked at the consulting firm Roland Berger GmbH, specializing in growth strategies and performance optimization.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andreas to our team,” said Drew Backeberg, Senior Vice President of Aftermarket at DTNA. “His extensive experience and proven track record in the trucking industry make him the perfect fit to lead our service and customer experience initiatives. We are confident that Andreas and the DTNA team will continue to provide best-in-class after sales support, with a strong focus on maximizing vehicle uptime and enhancing customer experience.”

Andreas holds a PhD from HHL Leipzig’s Graduate School of Management and a master’s degree from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. He also studied at Purdue University and the University of Greenwich. Andreas succeeds Paul Romanaggi, who recently announced his retirement from DTNA.
