PORTLAND, Ore. (August 6, 2026) — Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA), the leader in commercial vehicle transportation solutions, today announced plans to build a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the United States, reinforcing its long-term strategy to support customer demand, enhance operational flexibility, and strengthen its production capabilities across North America.

The new greenfield, purpose-built facility is expected to expand DTNA’s manufacturing capacity and strengthen both vocational and on-highway production. Designed with advanced production technologies and flexible manufacturing systems, the facility will support future innovation, quality, efficiency, and operational resilience.

The facility will leverage advanced manufacturing technologies, highly adaptable assembly processes, and modern production equipment to efficiently build a broad range of vehicle configurations while responding to changing market demands.

DTNA is currently evaluating multiple potential locations for the facility. Key considerations include the ability to access and support a stable and efficient supply chain and skilled workforce, transportation and logistics infrastructure, a favorable business environment, and alignment with the company’s long-term manufacturing strategy.

Following final site selection, construction is expected to begin in late 2026, with operations targeted to start in 2029. The facility is projected to create thousands of DTNA jobs over time and contribute to the local economy through partnerships with suppliers, educational institutions, and community organizations. 

The planned facility is part of DTNA's ongoing efforts to align its manufacturing footprint with long-term business requirements. The company continuously evaluates its production network to ensure it remains competitive, efficient, and positioned for future growth. Additional details, including the final location and employment projections, will be announced at a later date.
